Fifteen Year Periodic Review of quarry planning controls and environmental impact

The Environment Act 1995 places an obligation on North Yorkshire County Council (NYCC) to undertake a periodic review of existing mineral planning permissions every 15 years.

Hanson was required to submit an application and a proposed set of planning conditions for the quarry by the 19th of August 2007.

A summary of Hanson's proposed set of planning conditions can be viewed by following the link given below.

The application for the determination of new conditions does not seek approval for any new development at Pateley Bridge Quarry.

This summary is one councillor's assessment and interpretation of the documentation provided by NYCC and as such does not constitute either the Parish Council's interpretation nor that of the County Council. The summary provided here is for information only.

Bewerley Parish Council has a full set of the application documents as well as a separate environmental statement (ES) that assesses the environmental impact of the quarry operations and these can be viewed by prior arrangement with the Parish Council, or by contacting NYCC.
