SAFER PATELEY BRIDGE POLICING TEAM NEWSLETTER (20080609)

There have been some recent changes to the composition of the policing team based at Pateley Bridge, not least is the fact that we are now known as the Safer Pateley Bridge Team.

PC Dave Tetley has returned to his role as the dedicated officer for the area although he is now known as the Safer Neighbourhood Officer for the three Pateley Bridge and the Washburn wards. This is an additional role within the Safer Pateley Bridge team which means that there is currently a vacancy for a sixth officer to join the team and hopefully this post will be filled shortly.

The remaining members of the team are: PC Graham Tetley; PC Steve Smith; PC Mick Oliver; PC Sean Weldon. In charge of the team as the Sergeant for the area as well being the 'Ward Manager' for all four wards is Sgt Christine Turner who is currently based between Ripon and Pateley Bridge. A relatively new and welcome addition to the team is the rural PCSO Sharon Wilson who can be seen driving her sponsored blue Vauxhall Corsa from village to village.

The Safer Pateley Bridge team can be contacted in a number of different ways depending on the urgency with which you might need to speak with us.

  • For routine matters the main number of 0845 6060 247 should always be used. Ask for the Ripon Safer Neighbourhoods Team.
  • We can also be contacted directly by e-mail at saferpateleybridge@northyorkshire.pnn.police.uk
  • The Police Station on Kings Street can still be visited in person and if no officer is present contact can be made using the yellow telephone located outside the office door.
  • We also now have the front office facilities that are provided by the Nidderdale Plus Partnership office between 10am and 4pm Monday to Friday, excluding Bank Holidays.
  • Remember,in an emergency there is always the 999 telephone system.
    • If you consider your call is an emergency that requires immediate attendance then ring 999. Examples being :-
    • Where life and limb are at risk
    • A crime is being committed and offenders still present
    • Road traffic collisions where emergency services are required to protect and manage the scene.
