Local News and Information - Thieves Target Greenhow Shrubs
|
Thieves have targeted Greenhow and stolen feature plants from a roadside planter. The theft occurred between Friday the eighth of May 2009 and Saturday the ninth of May 2009. The plants stolen were taken from the Craven Cross entrance to the village on the Pateley Bridge to Grassington road. Bewerley Parish Council provided planters on the three roads leading to the village some years ago. The flowers in the planters are supplied and maintained by a team of volunteers made up of local residents who give freely of their time and expertise. Money for the flowers and shrubs is generously donated by Hanson's Quarry. The focus of the thefts were a Mahonia aquifolium Apollo and an Erica x veitchii Exeter.
