Annual Parish Assembly:
This is the opportunity for all parishioners and those interested in the welfare of the village and surrounding area to come and air their views about Bewerley.
At the meeting there is the opportunity to raise questions and all parishioners have the right to submit motions for discussion at the meeting. These should be with the Clerk seven clear days before the meeting so that they can be publicised on the Parish Council's notice boards.
Others invited to attend and address the meeting include the local Distrcit Councillor and the local North Yorkshire County Councillor.
The Annual Assembly is normally held in April or May. Reports & Interim Accounts, Agendas and Draft Minutes can be viewed here.

Public Participation at Parish Council Meetings
Members of the public are entitled and encouraged to be present at meetings of Bewerley Parish Council but they are not allowed to interrupt or speak during the council meeting itself. However the council will normally set aside some time at the beginning of each meeting for electors to ask questions and express their views. Technically, the council meeting stands adjourned during that time.
Under this "public participation" agenda item the public will be invited to ask questions or make observations on any matters relevant to the community of Bewerley. The council will note the views expressed, and will answer the questions if and when it can. Questions submitted in writing to the Clerk seven clear days before the meeting can be publicised on the agenda, but electors may speak without giving such notice - it just means they are less likely to get an immediate answer.
A maximum of 30 minutes will be allocated to public participation at each meeting, with each elector's submission limited to five minutes.
During the remainder of the council meeting the public should remain silent unless the Chair is persuaded that allowing an interruption would benefit the council's deliberations.
The elector's opportunity for involvement in full-scale democratic decision-making remains the Parish Meeting which meets at least annually, usually in April - May.
